KOTA KINABALU: The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for DUN Usukan has expressed his desire and commitment to continue serving the community in the area.
“Alhamdulillah, with deep gratitude and a sense of responsibility, I accept the mandate to contest once again in Usukan — the place where my struggle and service to the community began,” he stated in his latest Facebook post.
In this regard, Salleh, the former Chief Minister of Sabah, expressed his gratitude to BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and UMNO Sabah Chief Datuk Seri Panglima Bung Moktar Radin for their confidence and trust.
“I accept this mandate with an open heart and a determination to continue serving the community I cherish,” he remarked.
Salleh emphasised that political struggle is not merely about victory but about responsibility and the continuity of service.
“What has been initiated must be continued. Ongoing development requires sincerity, dedication, and cooperation from all parties for the welfare of the Usukan community.
“I believe that good politics must be built on the foundations of respect and sincerity. That is why I will campaign in a gentlemanly manner — with arguments, ideas, and a record of service, not personal attacks.
“We compete to serve, not to be adversaries,” he added.
Salleh urged the Usukan community to continue collaborating to realise the development agenda in the DUN.
“Let us work together to develop and strengthen Usukan for the future of the coming generations,” he concluded.
