TAMBUNAN: The Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) has suffered a blow when 100 of its members have joined the Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) in the Tambunan division.
The group was led by former staff of the PWR Office, Aloralee, who is also from the Noudu Branch, and they submitted their membership forms to the head of Gagasan Rakyat Tambunan, Datuk Dr Victor Peter Paut.
Aloralee stated that their decision to leave the party was made without any influence or coercion from any party.
“We believe that the leadership of Gagasan Rakyat’s Division Chief, Dato Victor P Paut, is transparent, sincere, and visionary in developing the Tambunan District for the welfare of its people.
“We are confident in Dato’ Victor P Paut’s leadership style and approach for the progress of Tambunan, aligned with the direction of the GRS government. We hope GRS will continue to lead the state of Sabah after the upcoming elections,” said Aloralee.
He also anticipates that more STAR members will join Gagasan Rakyat to assist the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in winning the DUN Tambunan seat in the 17th State Election (PRU17) on November 29.
“We will provide strong support and vote for GRS in the upcoming election,” he added.
Meanwhile, Victor described the decision of Aloralee and the former STAR members to join Gagasan Rakyat as a wise move, recognising the direction and struggle of Gagasan Rakyat.
“Their presence will certainly strengthen the position of Gagasan Rakyat Tambunan in facing the state elections,” he said.
