KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan slams former assemblyman James Ligunjang for peddling lies and recycled propaganda by claiming Warisan is “sponsored” or “funded” by UMNO — a malicious and defamatory accusation that reflects his desperation for political relevance.
Ligunjang’s latest outburst is nothing more than a political stunt by a disgruntled former leader who has long lost credibility among Sabahans. His baseless claim that UMNO “controls” Warisan’s funding is a blatant lie intended to discredit a party that has consistently fought for Sabah’s autonomy and dignity.
Warisan has never — and will never — be beholden to any Peninsula party. Those spreading this nonsense are either willfully ignorant or politically bankrupt.
Let it be clear: Warisan will not tolerate lies masquerading as opinion. The party’s legal team is now reviewing Ligunjang’s statement for possible defamation proceedings to ensure accountability for his reckless and false assertions.
While others spread poison and fear, Warisan continues to focus on what truly matters — good governance, economic reform, and empowering the people of Sabah.
