KOTA KINABALU: The dissolution of the Sabah Legislative Assembly (DUN) announced by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor gives the people a chance to reassess the direction of the state ahead of the 17th State Election (PRN).
The Information Chief of the Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat), Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, is urging the public to maintain their mandate for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the sake of political stability and the continuity of state development.
He said that since taking over leadership in the 16th PRN, the GRS-led government has successfully governed with full responsibility, focusing on stability, which is key to Sabah’s progress.
“GRS has successfully implemented the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Policy, which is the foundation of the state’s development, balancing economic progress, the welfare of the people, and environmental sustainability,” he said in a statement here.
He mentioned that various new investments have been brought into the green energy, tourism, agriculture, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sectors, creating numerous job opportunities for the local population.
At the same time, he noted that the government has also implemented various initiatives for the people, including the SMJ Friendly Home program to assist the B40 group and young couples, as well as strengthening rural infrastructure and the education and health sectors.
“The good relationship between the state government and the Federal Government has also allowed for more development allocations to be channeled to Sabah for the long-term benefit of the people,” he said.
Nizam also called on the people of Sabah to continue giving their mandate to GRS in the 17th PRN to ensure that proven effective policies can be continued for the stability and progress of the state.
