TAWAU: “Do not let slander divide us!” asserted the President of the Sabah People’s Hope Party (PHRS), Tan Sri Liew Yun Fah.
He reminded the public not to be deceived by the opposition’s political propaganda, which seeks to gain support without contributing to the state’s development.
“In conjunction with National Day and Sabah Day 2025, the people should strengthen their spirit of patriotism and unity, and firmly reject any political elements that divide society.
“The people of Sabah must remain united under the Sabah People’s Alliance (GRS) because this coalition truly works for the people. We cannot allow hatred and deceitful politics to poison our community,” he stated when met here on Saturday.
Liew emphasised that GRS not only brings stability but also focuses on addressing grassroots issues, including land matters, basic facilities, rural development, and the rights of the people of Sabah.
“For instance, several villages in the Kukusan and Merotai constituencies have been successfully gazetted before the dissolution of the assembly – this is clear evidence that GRS is not just good at making promises but is capable of delivering. We work continuously, not just appearing during election season,” he asserted.
Unity is the Foundation of Progress
Further commenting, Liew stressed that unity is Sabah’s main strength, and only with political stability can the state attract investments, create job opportunities, and generate inclusive development.
“Progress cannot be achieved if we continue to be divided. The opposition only comes with sweet promises and rhetoric, while GRS has consistently proven its ability to address the people’s issues,” he said.
National Day Celebration: A Time to Renew Determination
In conjunction with the National Day and Sabah Day celebrations, Liew urged the people of Sabah to renew their determination to maintain harmony, reject slander, and continue supporting leadership that genuinely works.
“This is not the time for cheap political games. This is the time for unity,” he said.
