KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Masiung Banah, the vice-president of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat), has indicated that there is a strong possibility for Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) to collaborate ahead of the state general election (PRN-17).
“The confidence is evident as the Sabah Chief Minister, who also chairs the GRS, has consistently shown his willingness to work with PH,” he stated.
Masiung made these remarks after inaugurating the Inanam Gagasan Rakyat Annual Conference, which was led by Datuk Dr Roland Chia at the Menggatal Community Hall on Tuesday.
He also mentioned that PH Sabah has expressed support for the leadership and governance of Chief Minister and GRS Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
However, he noted that the collaboration between the two parties will be determined at the upcoming GRS Supreme Council Meeting.
“If this partnership is confirmed, GRS and PH will establish a joint operation in each district to ensure that GRS candidates succeed in the PRN-17.
“In further comments regarding the Kumaut community, GRS aligns with Barisan Nasional (BN) in their decision not to collaborate for the PRN-17,” he said.
Masiung remains optimistic, stating that the cooperation between GRS and PH within the Sabah Cabinet is currently strong and serves as a foundation for political stability in Sabah.
The ideas from Hajiji’s leadership are prepared to act as a defense to guarantee that the candidates supported by GRS will win in the PRN-17.
