KALABAKAN: UMNO remains receptive to the return of former leaders and members who wish to rejoin the party.
In this regard, Sabah UMNO Treasurer Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak has urged former leaders and members who have left the party to return in order to strengthen it.
He stated that the party has a good track record as the leading political force in Sabah.
“I believe UMNO is an inclusive party, and if any of our friends have drifted away, they should consider coming back.
“When we lose our way, we don’t need to ask where we are; we should simply look at the navigation tools (Waze) to guide us back to serving our people, religion, and nation.
“UMNO is an experienced party, and just because we faced a tsunami in the past does not mean we cannot raise awareness among the people that the right choice is UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN),” he remarked.
Salleh, who is also a former Chief Minister of Sabah, made these comments to reporters after an Iftar event organised by the UMNO Kalabakan division.
He noted that the people of Sabah continue to show strong support for the party and are merely waiting for the state elections to express this support.
“Sometimes we forget that many of our people are the silent majority, and I am confident they are with us because they want to see stability in Sabah and focus on the development of the state,” he added.
