KOTA KINABALU: Riduan from Kota Belud created history by winning the Super Mega Fishing event at Tasek Naga Pond in Sipitang in conjunction with the opening of the new management (Kolam Si Aunty) on Sunday.
This victory earned Riduan a cash prize of RM50,000.
The fishing event attracted many participants from across Malaysia, including Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan, and the Peninsular, as well as anglers from neighbouring Brunei.
A spokesperson for the management of Kolam Si Aunty expressed gratitude on social media to everyone involved, especially the pond operators throughout Sabah, fishing groups, individual anglers, vendors, staff, and visitors who contributed to the event’s success.
Due to the positive response, Kolam Si Aunty’s management is committed to continuing this event in the future and diversifying the championships to attract more anglers.
The next Mega Fishing event at Tasek Naga Lake is scheduled for April 27, and those interested in participating can contact Kolam Si Aunty management at 0168226357 (Management) and 01133319712 (Pacak).
Kolam Si Aunty’s management anticipates that more fishing groups and individual anglers from various regions, states, and countries will join the fishing festival, helping to promote Sipitang as a tourist destination.
