SANDAKAN: A tragic incident unfolded here when a man was fatally attacked by a crocodile.
The horrifying event occurred last Friday evening in the Batu 8 squatter area at around 8:20 PM.
The 28-year-old victim was crossing a wooden bridge en route to his brother’s house when the crocodile struck.
Superintendent K Ramasamy, the Acting Sandakan District Police Chief, reported that the victim managed to call out for help during the attack.
Sadly, his family discovered his body about two meters from the attack site at 9:30 PM that night, with multiple signs of crocodile bites evident on his body.
The remains were later taken to the Duchess of Kent Hospital for an autopsy.
