KOTA KINABALU: UMNO members should avoid making negative comments about the party’s top leaders, as it will not benefit the party in any way, according to former UMNO treasurer Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
He emphasised that such remarks will only hinder the party’s efforts to gain support and restore the confidence of the Malays and the general public.
Salleh, the former Sabah chief minister, stressed the importance of UMNO leaders communicating their new political perspectives to Malay voters and the public.
In his latest Facebook post, he also highlighted the need for UMNO leaders to express their views on governance, power, and decision-making regarding the future of Malay interests.
Salleh urged UMNO members to openly commit to Malay voters, especially those in rural areas, and ensure that they understand the shared goals and aspirations of the party’s top five leaders.
The Usukan assemblyman emphasised the importance of unity among the top leaders to strengthen UMNO and regain lost support and confidence.
Salleh noted the interest of the younger generation in understanding any changes in the political perspectives of UMNO leaders.
He also emphasised the need for UMNO to successfully convince all sectors of society to have faith in the party’s honesty and sincerity.
