Cabinet agrees to introduce a new direction for SDSI – Ewon

He said this is in line with the government’s efforts to introduce new SDSI products and expand markets to the international level.

“I presented a paper to the Cabinet to introduce new directions and implementation models for SDSI at the cabinet meeting a few days ago.

“The Cabinet agrees with these directions. After being implemented for so long, we need to come up with a new model, including enhancing cooperation between state and federal governments along with agencies in identifying industries.

“We will only develop one product or one industry that we believe can be brought to the international market, and we also encourage the establishment of cooperatives for entrepreneurs in rural areas or districts engaged in these rural industries,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters after officiating the TEKUN Madani Carnival and SDSI Showcase at the Datuk Shahbandar Makang Community Hall here today.

Ewon said this is an improvement and a new direction, not only in the implementation of SDSI, but we will also be part of the Sejati Komuniti Madani implementation, which is allocated RM1 billion in this year’s budget.

“We will not entirely use the SDSI model in the implementation of the Sejati Komuniti Madani, but we will collaborate with the ICU of the Prime Minister’s Department in promoting products in several Sejati Komuniti Madani implementations that will be introduced this year,” he said.
