Madius urges the citizens to uphold peace and harmony amidst the recent surge of challenging issues

TUARAN: Former Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau is calling on all citizens to actively contribute to the maintenance of peace in the country.

He emphasizes the importance of this in light of recent concerns regarding inter-ethnic and inter-religious relations.

Madius, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tuaran, highlights the significance of individuals from diverse ethnicities and religions practicing forgiveness and seeking forgiveness as a means to foster interactions and uphold harmony in promoting cross-integration values.

He asserts that in order to lead a harmonious life, it is essential for every individual to cultivate the habit of forgiveness towards those who have wronged them.

Madius said this after attending the opening ceremony of the Pathfinder Camporee, which was officiated by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, on behalf of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at Dantai beach, approximately 20 kilometers away from the town of Tuaran.

The event was also attended by Pastor Abel Bana, President of the Malaysia Union Mission of Seventh-day Adventist (MAUM), and Pastor Feldinand B. Sawanai, President of the Sabah Mission of Seventh Day Adventist.

Sabah is hosting this program for the first time, organised by MAUM.

Madius further expressed his appreciation for the youth camporee, believing that it can strengthen unity and instill positive values.

Over 3,000 youths, including participants from overseas, took part in the five-day Pathfinder Camporee.
