KOTA MARUDU:Parti Bersatu Sabah position here is further strengthened with the formation of a third division, following the additional 13 new state seats in Sabah.
Its President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said, under the new delineation border, the new seat, N6 Bandau, will be an addition to the existing N5 Matunggong and N7 Tandek under the P168 Kota Marudu parliamentary constituency.
“With the new division, PBS’ position will grow from strength to strength in the district,” he said when launching the 35th PBS N4 Matunggong and N5 Tandek Joint Annual General Meeting, today.
In his speech, he said after 36 years, PBS remains strong and consistent with its struggle to fight for the rights of Sabah and Sabahans, as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963.
“As the largest multi-racial party, PBS becomes the voice of all people. We also focus on protecting the people and Sabah’s sovereignty, while upholding the MA63. which is also part of the party’s constitution.
“We will not stop until we fulfill PBS’ missions and visions,” he said.
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) also calls on leaders and members to beef up their membership drive.
“PBS needs new blood in the party. The younger generation is the party’s future leaders, and we, the seniors, must play our roles to train the young to understand and accept our struggles, missions, and visions, as well as our aspirations,” he said.
