State Minister of Community Development and People’s Well-Being, Datuk James Ratib, said that speeding up the land registration process is crucial as there are approximately 47 land sites allocated to JKNS that have not been applied for yet.

Furthermore, he said that 120 JKNS land sites are still in application status.

He stressed that if these lands are not registered, it could affect the smooth implementation of JKNS projects, including the construction of health clinics in rural areas.

James made these remarks after attending a briefing on the issue of federal building land grants in Kota Kinabalu on Tuesday.

He was informed by the Director-General of the Department of Lands and Mines (KPTG) or the Federal Land Commissioner of Sabah, Fazlina Abdul Rani, that the process of registering federal building land sites, including health clinics in Sabah, is taking a long time due to applications having to go through the ministry in Kuala Lumpur.
