Deputy Director of the Pupil Development Sector of the Sabah State Education Department, Muddin Beting, said that, on the other hand, graduates of TVET in this country are very relevant to the demands of the market.

In fact, he said TVET graduates have advantages that qualify them to obtain jobs and a more dignified wage rate.

Muddin said TVET is an alternative to academic education that emphasises technical and practical skills to meet the growing needs of the industry.

He said this when officiating the Success Career Education Carnival at Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic today.

Muddin said the carnival, among other things, aims to create a one-stop centre to provide information to target groups such as students, parents, teachers, and the local community to obtain accurate and up-to-date information on aspects of education, including higher education opportunities.

A total of 48 public universities (UA), private universities, and specialised schools participated in the Carnival.

Muddin said the carnival was targeting around 16,000 visitors and hoped that the visitors would be able to avail themselves of the first-time programme.
