KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak is of the opinion that Pakatan Harapan (PH) needs to really think and stay ahead of former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to avoid a potential political crisis coming from Perikatan Nasional (PN) under its new de facto leader.
“I believe the people within Pakatan Harapan would have some knowledge of what to expect from Tun Mahathir if he were to make any move in the near future,” he said in his latest Facebook posting.
According to Salleh, Mahathir is not known for being a person who makes a move without an end game.
“He (Mahathir) is also known to be a person who makes a move only when he can see and seize opportunities to make for himself some substantial gain politically.
“The same goes to his move to become the de facto leader of the PN Coalition,” he said.
The Usukan assemblyman believed that this was only Mahathir’s first move, with many more to come.
“Tun Mahathir doesn’t have the time or the patience to wait for PRU 16.
“Therefore he has to chart his moves in an organised manner, exploiting opportunities available with the essence of speed,” he cautioned.
