KOTA BELUD: Tamu Malam (Night Bazaar), which will be introduced at the Kadamaian Square on Sept. 21, is set to be another attraction for members of the public in the area.
This is according to the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development, Datuk Ewon Benedick, who said the Tamu Malam also provides a platform for locals there to generate some income.
He said that the first night bazaar will be a test run to see how traders and the general public react before it is implemented permanently.
“On September 22, we will hold a Kadamaian Tamu Besar celebration in conjunction with the National Hawkers and Small Business Day Mini Celebration (HPPK) at Kadamaian Square and at the weekly Tamu Ground of Taginambur. Therefore, on the night of September 21, we will introduce the Kadamaian Night Bazaar.
“I hope this initiative gives additional avenues for Tamu traders, especially from the Kadamaian area, to market their products.
“Appropriate preparations will be carried out by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) in collaboration with the Kota Belud District Office, the Kota Belud District Council, and the Kadamaian Assemblyman Service Centre,” he said.
Ewon said this in his speech during the closing ceremony of the Mee Laksa and Mee Kuning Course at Tamu Lompios, here, today.
The course was organised by the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kg Lompios in collaboration with Home Chef Kongsi Resepi (HCKR). It was attended by some 100 participants from the mothers’ community in Kadamaian.
Ewon, who is also Kadamaian assemblyman, reiterated his commitment to continue developing and upgrading Tamu facilities, especially in the Kadamaian area.
