Over 10,000 Sabahan gather to celebrate ‘Santai Kaamatan’ in Selangor 

SHAH ALAM: More than 10,000 visitors, the majority of whom are Sabahans, flocked to Padang Sri Muda here todayto celebrate ‘Santai Kaamatan Selangor’.

Organising chairman, who is also Pertubuhan KDM Malaysia president, Datuk Peter Anthony, said the large number of visitors clearly showed that the program was highly anticipated by Sabahans residing in the state.

“I am grateful to have been able to host the Santai Kaamatan in Selangor this year.

“I am aware that many Sabahans live and work in Selangor, some of them for more than 15 years,” he said. 

Peter, who is also the Melalap assemblyman said this when delivering a welcome speech in conjunction with the Santai Kaamatan program, which was officiated by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Also present were Kinabatangan MP Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and Kota Marudu MP Datuk Wetrom Bahada.

To further enliven the Santai Kaamatan program, several local Sabah artists were invited to perform a special performance, including Francis Landong, Ampal and George Lian.

The program, among other things, aims to foster close rapport among the people of Sabah who are residing in Selangor.
