FA CUP – KL City Through To Semifinals After Edging Sabah 2-1

KOTA KINABALU: Three-time champions Kuala Lumpur City FC are through to the semifinals of the FA Cup after edging Sabah FC 2-1 in their quarterfinal match in Likas Stadium here today.
The home team managed to get an early lead with a penalty in the sixth minute by Gabriel Peres after KL City captain KL City Paulo Josue brought down Jailton Paraiba.
KL City were undaunted and equalised in the 29th minute through Romel Morales and settled the match just a minute before the end of the first half, when T. Saravanan scored the City Boys’ second goal in the 44th minute.
The second half witnessed Sabah trying to equalise but it just was not their day.
KL City will meet two-time champions Terengganu FC in the semifinals.
