KINABATANGAN: Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee Chairman Datuk Seri Panglima Bung Moktar Radin has denied issuing statement, expressing support for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government as reported by a private TV station.
The Kinabatangan member of Parliament, in a statement, admitted that the central BN had issued a statement in support of the Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor led GRS government based on the decision at the federal level with regard to the formation of a Unity Government.
However, he asserted that until now, there has been no resolution reached towards the formation of the Sabah Unity Government, similar to that of the federal unity government.
“Previously, BN Secretary General, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir had issued a statement that BN gave support to the GRS government led by Hajiji taking into account the decisions at the federal level that form the Unity Government.
“Discussions have already been done by the Permanent Secretariat of the Unity Government to coordinate all the parties that founded it and in Sabah, we are represented by the former Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee Deputy Chairman Datuk Yakub Khan.
“However, until today, no resolution has been reached, even the dismissal of political appointees from UMNO continues. So, what does unity government mean,” he said.
