KUALA LUMPUR: Former Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Anifah Aman has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor
for their support and trust in recommending and appointing him as a Senator.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the country and the people of Malaysia in my new capacity as a Senator.
“I am committed to upholding the principles of democracy, good governance, and the rule of law and will work tirelessly towards the betterment of the nation and the well-being of all Malaysians,” he said in a statement today.
As a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anifah said he would bring with him a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Senate.
“I look forward to contributing to meaningful discussions and debates that will shape Malaysia’s future and strengthen its position on the global stage,” he said.
Anifah also acknowledged the significance of the appointment, saying that “I am deeply humbled by the trust and confidence placed in me by the Honorable Chief Minister of Sabah and the Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia”.
