Sabah HPM Carnival Generates RM433,500 in Sales, Attracts Over 52,000 Visitors

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah 2026 edition of the Malaysia Business Excellence Carnival (HPM) achieved sales totaling RM433,500 and drew 52,240 visitors throughout its three-day run, which concluded on October 25th.

Deputy Minister of Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Mohamad Alamin stated that this performance surpassed the initial target of 50,000 visitors, achieving a 104.5 percent success rate.

According to him, the recorded sales also exceeded the original target of RM300,000, reaching 144.5 percent of the set objective.

“More impressively, the business matching potential generated RM1.129 million in value, surpassing the initial target of RM1 million,” he noted.

Mohamad remarked that this achievement demonstrates strong community support for local entrepreneurs’ products and services, particularly within the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in Sabah.

He stated that the carnival’s success also reflects strategic collaboration between the Federal Government, Sabah State Government, government agencies, and industry players in strengthening the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

He added that Sabah State Government’s backing of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) initiatives played a crucial role in making the program successful.

“These figures represent far more than mere statistics of program success; they reflect consumer confidence in local products, entrepreneurs’ commitment to business growth, and expanding market opportunities for MSMEs in Sabah,” he explained.

Mohamad also emphasized that the carnival’s benefits must continue after the program concludes, particularly in helping entrepreneurs boost sales, expand business networks, and develop more sustainable enterprises.

“Most importantly, we want to ensure that the benefits from organizing such carnivals don’t stop after the event.
