KOTA KINABALU: Sabah requires a greater number of leaders in their 30s and 40s to take prominent positions in politics across all parties.
Former Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, emphasized that these leaders must be intelligent, articulate, and knowledgeable, with strong comprehension of politics, economics, governance, technology, and global developments.
“Most critically, they must possess comprehensive understanding of MA63, the Federal Constitution, Malaysia’s formation history, and Sabah’s position within the Federation,” he stated through a Facebook post.
He stressed that advancing Sabah’s interests demands far more than rhetoric and passion.
“We need leaders capable of arguing and negotiating Sabah’s interests based on evidence, legislation, and historical facts,” he said.
Salleh clarified that this initiative is not about replacing senior leaders, but rather ensuring leadership continuity.
“This is about maintaining leadership succession by merging their experience and wisdom with the energy, innovation, and perspectives of the younger generation,” he added.
