Missing Teen Found Safe in Inanam

KOTA KINABALU: Thirteen-year-old Gwynne Mia Erbin, who had been reported missing, was found unharmed in front of a house in Inanam on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3 PM.

Acting Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief Superintendent Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman confirmed that the girl was discovered alone but in stable condition, with no visible injuries. 

According to preliminary accounts, she had been with a friend since the previous day.

Following her discovery, the teenager was brought by her mother to the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters (IPD) to complete necessary follow-up procedures and assist with the ongoing investigation.

“Further inquiries are currently underway to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Syed Lot said in a statement released today.

He urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims or making assumptions before the investigation concludes, emphasizing that all related information should be directed to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) through official means.

Syed Lot also extended appreciation to members of the public for their support, cooperation, and role in sharing information about the case, which contributed significantly to the safe location of the girl.
