UMNO Sabah Targets 80% Sabahan Support for BN in Johor Jaya and Permas

PASIR GUDANG, JOHOR – UMNO Sabah is targeting at least 80 percent support from Sabahan voters for the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in the Johor Jaya and Permas state constituencies in the upcoming Johor State Election.

UMNO Sabah Treasurer, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, said the target is based on encouraging feedback received throughout the campaign and from continuous engagements with Sabahans living and working in Johor.

Speaking at a gathering of young Sabahans during the Santai Anak Sabah programme in Balai Komuniti Tasek 12, Bandar Seri Alam, Pasir Gudang, Salleh said many Sabahans believe that political stability is essential for sustaining economic growth, attracting investment, creating quality jobs, and improving opportunities for families and the younger generation.

“Sabahans want a government that is stable, capable of delivering economic growth, strengthening investor confidence, and creating more employment opportunities. These are the issues that matter most to them,” he said.

Salleh noted that in the previous Johor State Election, the Sabahan vote was split, with a sizeable number supporting Warisan candidates. However, with Warisan not contesting in the current election, UMNO Sabah believes much of that support will now consolidate behind the BN candidates.

He said the response from the ground indicates that Sabahans are placing greater emphasis on economic progress, political stability, and effective governance rather than political differences.

Salleh expressed confidence that a more united Sabahan vote would strengthen BN’s prospects in both Johor Jaya and Permas while demonstrating the continued commitment of Sabahans to a stable government, sustained economic growth, and a more prosperous Malaysia.
