PGRS Tambunan pushes forward with a plan to provide one canopy per Mukim—Victor P. Paut

KENINGAU: Datuk Victor Peter Paut, head of the Sabah People’s Gagasan Party (PGRS) in Tambunan, has announced a continued effort to supply one canopy to each Mukim (cluster or grouping of various local villages) in the Tambunan area to assist with community event organization.

He explained that the initiative is intended to ease the logistical and financial challenges faced by villagers when hosting cultural, religious, and social gatherings.

“Our goal is to support local programs and reinforce unity and cooperation among Tambunan residents,” he said in a statement

Victor noted that the program has been active since 2024, and sub-districts that have not yet received their canopy are encouraged to reach out to the PGRS N39 Tambunan office for follow-up.

The Tambunan district includes seven sub-districts—Sunsuron, Kirokot, Patau, Lintuhun, Monsorulung, Nambayan, and Toboh—covering a total of 77 villages.

Victor, who is also the Deputy Chairman of Sawit Kinabalu Group and Borneo Samudera Sdn Bhd, expressed hope that the canopies will serve as valuable community assets, fostering stronger relationships and increasing local engagement across the district.
