KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) recently carried out a coordinated operation to dismantle 38 illegal squatter structures located behind Alamesra, Likas.
According to DBKK, the area was developed unlawfully on government land, including mangrove reserve areas that need to be preserved.
The operation was conducted in collaboration with several agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB), and the Sabah Land and Survey Department.
DBKK stated that strict actions will continue, as an additional 112 structures have been identified for further action. This initiative also aims to reduce the risks of fire, crime, and environmental pollution in the affected area.
