ESSCOM apprehends 64 illegal immigrants during a coordinated operation

LAHAD DATU: A total of 64 illegal immigrants from the Philippines and Indonesia were detained in the Lahad Datu District Integrated Operation conducted by the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM).

ESSCOM Commander, DCP Datuk Victor Sanjos, stated that the operation also identified various violations related to immigration, employment, trafficking, utilities, business licensing, and customs.

He noted that the total value of enforcement actions, fines, and seizures recorded is estimated at RM623,450.

He mentioned that the operation, which involved 262 officers and personnel from various agencies, was carried out to ensure compliance with the law and to combat the presence of illegal immigrants in the ESS Zone.

“ESSCOM will continue to intensify integrated operations in line with the slogan ‘No Day Without Operations,'” he said.
