SANDAKAN: The Sandakan District branch of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) successfully captured a 2.5-meter-long reticulated python, weighing around 10 kilograms, and retrieved 14 eggs during an operation at a factory site along Batu 8, Jalan Lintas Sibuga, earlier today.
Captain (PA) Sulaiman Bin Salama, Sandakan’s District Civil Defence Officer, stated that APM responded after receiving a public report about a snake seen in a stack of zinc sheets at the location.
Upon arrival, the team located the reptile concealed in a ground hole nearby and carried out the retrieval without incident, ensuring the safety of both personnel and the public.
The operation concluded smoothly with no injuries or complications.
APM Sandakan urges residents to stay alert and immediately report any sightings of wild or potentially dangerous animals in homes, workplaces, or surrounding areas.
