Datuk Ruji Ubi appointed new Sabah PH Secretary

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Ruji Ubi has been appointed as the new secretary of Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah to assist in streamlining the operations and preparations of the coalition for the upcoming general election (PRU).

The restructuring of the PH Sabah leadership was announced by the Sabah PH Chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, during a press conference here today.

“We have discussed the restructuring of key positions within PH Sabah. We aim to leverage the experience of prominent figures in the party, including Datuk Ruji Ubi.

“Ruji’s experience, having served as secretary-general in several ministries, is expected to strengthen the party’s operations, especially in facing the PRU,” he stated.

The restructuring also sees several incumbents retaining their key positions, including Mustapha (PKR) as chairman; deputy chairpersons Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe (DAP) and Datuk Lahirul Latigu (AMANAH); Youth Chief Zaidi Jatil; Women’s Chief Datuk Jannie Lasimbang; and Election Director Datuk Peto Galim.

Commenting on the preparations for the PRU, Mustapha mentioned that this matter is also a focus of discussion among the PH Sabah leadership.

He expressed his readiness to defend the Sepanggar parliamentary seat if given the greenlight by the party’s top leadership to contest in the upcoming PRU.

When asked whether PH Sabah would use its own symbol in the upcoming PRU, Mustapha stated that this matter is still under consideration.
