Mosque in Keningau parliamentary constituency receives 10 cows for Aidiladha 2026

TAMBUNAN: Ahead of the Aidiladha festivities, the mosque serving the Keningau parliamentary constituency has been provided with 10 cattle for sacrificial purposes.

The donation was handed over by Dato’ Victor P. Paut, Head of the Sabah People’s Gagasan Party (PGRS) Tambunan Division and Deputy Chairman of Sawit Kinabalu Sdn Bhd and Borneo Samudera Sdn Bhd. 

The handover took place last Friday at Pisompuruan Square in Tambunan.

Eight of the cows were personally contributed by Victor, while the other two came from Sawit Kinabalu. 

The animals will be distributed across several areas: four to the Tambunan constituency (covering Mukim Patau and Kirokot), three to Liawan, and three to Bingkor.

The gesture underscores a shared commitment to supporting local communities in fulfilling their religious obligations during Aidiladha.

Victor explained that the initiative is intended to assist Muslims in the region carry out sacrifices collectively, fostering stronger community bonds. 

“This contribution allows the Muslim community to observe Aidiladha with greater ease and joy. It’s about building unity and brotherhood—we live together, so we should support one another,” he said.

Recipients expressed deep appreciation for the donation. Datuk Jasri Nasip Matjakir, representing Bingkor, thanked Victor for the three cows, noting they would benefit many households. 

“We are truly grateful for this generous act,” he said.

Idan Ariffin, representing Mukim Patau in Tambunan, welcomed the contribution with enthusiasm. Risam Ismail, the Liawan representative, also conveyed gratitude and expressed hope that the donation would be met with blessings.
