65 badminton players from Sabah receive sponsorship ahead of the Junior Elite Tour 2nd Leg in Terengganu

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 65 badminton players from Sabah have been provided with sports equipment in preparation for the Junior Elite Tour 2nd Leg tournament, which will take place in Terengganu for six days starting from April 7.

The presentation ceremony for the equipment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the development of badminton in Sabah, particularly among young players who will represent the state at the national level.

All participating players received sponsorship from YOUNG, the official sponsor of the Sabah Badminton Association (SBA).

This sponsorship aims to enhance the players’ readiness in terms of equipment before they compete in the tournament.

Datuk Dr Maijol Mahap, the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing of Sabah and President of SBA, expressed his utmost appreciation to the sponsors for their continued commitment to supporting the development of badminton in the state.

“The association greatly values the support provided by YOUNG. This sponsorship not only aids in the players’ preparation but also serves as a motivational catalyst for them to perform with greater confidence,” he stated.

He also hopes that the players from Sabah will fully utilize the opportunities given and showcase their best performance in the tournament.

“We hope these players will carry a strong fighting spirit and subsequently bring glory to Sabah at the national level,” he added.

The Junior Elite Tour is a crucial platform for the development of young badminton talents in the country, providing early exposure for players to compete at a more competitive level.

With strong support from sponsors and various parties, SBA is confident that the Sabah contingent can provide fierce competition and achieve commendable results in the upcoming tournament.
