KOTA KINABALU: Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad is pleased to announce the appointment of Datuk Dr. Yatimah Sarjiman as a Director of the Company with effect from 13 February 2026.
Datuk Dexter Lau, Chief Executive Officer of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad, said the Board warmly welcomes Datuk Dr. Yatimah and is confident that her extensive experience will bring significant value to the Group.
“Datuk Dr. Yatimah brings with her more than three decades of distinguished public service and strategic leadership across national planning, economic development and governance. Her depth of experience and policy insight will further strengthen the Board as we continue to drive sustainable growth and long-term value creation,” said Datuk Dexter Lau.
Datuk Dr. Yatimah has over 30 years of experience in public policy planning, human and financial resource management, regional economic and administrative development, social administration, as well as international relations and foreign affairs. Her professional expertise spans rural development, international industrial structures, the plantation industry and women empowerment.
During her 34-year career in public service, Datuk Dr. Yatimah held several strategic positions, including Deputy Secretary-General at the Prime Minister’s Department and Director-General of the Department of Women Development. She also served as Director of the Agriculture Division and Deputy Director of the Infrastructure and Utilities Division at the Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Prime Minister’s Department.
Most recently, as Deputy Secretary-General (Sectoral) at the Ministry of Economy, she played a pivotal role in the formulation of the 12th Malaysia Plan Mid-Term Review, which was tabled in Parliament. She also contributed to the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) launched in July 2023, as well as the National Energy Policy 2022, supporting Malaysia’s aspiration to become a low-carbon nation by 2040.
In addition to her new role at Kim Teck Cheong Berhad, Datuk Dr. Yatimah currently serves on the boards of PETRONAS Gas Berhad, Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd, PR1MA Communications Sdn Bhd, and UEM Group Berhad.
Datuk Dr. Yatimah holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting Information System from Idaho State University, USA, a Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Northrop University, USA, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Universiti Utara Malaysia.
