KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob has been appointed as the new Chairman of Sabah Development Berhad (SDB), one of the State Government-Linked Companies (GLC) under the Chief Minister’s Department and the State Ministry of Finance.
Previously, he served as the Chairman of Qhazanah Sabah Berhad and takes over from Datuk Poon Ming Fung as the Chairman of SDB.
The Sindumin assemblyman officially commenced his duties today at the SDB Office, Block C, Menara Kinabalu.
He received a brief briefing on the operations and direction of SDB, which was also attended by several board members and senior management of the company.
During the briefing session, Datuk Dr Yusof expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, for the trust placed in him.
He described the appointment as a significant mandate and responsibility to ensure that SDB continues to thrive as a successful state-owned development company.
He stated that in the initial phase, he will focus on understanding the role and strategic direction of SDB, including its subsidiaries, such as Jetama Sdn Bhd, to play a more effective role in contributing to economic growth, state development, and the welfare of the people of Sabah.
