KOTA KINABALU: Kuamut assemblyman Datuk Masiung Banah has been appointed as the new chairman of SEDCO with ministerial status.
He replaces Kemabong assemblyman Datuk Rubin Balang, who currently holds the position of State Minister of Rural Development.
Masiung will also continue to serve as Chairman of Borneo Cement (S) Sdn Bhd, a role he held prior to the recent state general election.
“Thank you to YAB Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for the trust and appointment as the new Chairman of SEDCO with ministerial status.
“I promise to carry out this responsibility diligently to advance the company and contribute to the development agenda of Sabah,” he stated in his latest social media post.
In the recent state election, Masiung, 53, won by a majority of 457 votes, successfully retaining the Kuamut seat for five consecutive terms.
