Tuaran PWD instructs the contractor for road repair on Pukak–Lokos — Madius

TUARAN: The District Public Works Department (PWD) has instructed the maintenance contractor, YTO Group, to prepare a proposal for repairs and the reopening of the diversion route on Jalan Pukak–Lokos due to worsening subsidence conditions reported.

Tuaran MP Datuk Seri Madius Tangau stated that he has directly contacted JKR for clarification and immediate action to ensure the safety of road users.

He said that the proposal aims to ensure at least one route can be opened for public use while repair work is carried out.

“Once this proposal is approved, repair work will commence. However, the duration of the implementation depends on the approval from the headquarters,” he said in a statement on Facebook here on Sunday.

The Tamparuli assemblyman also emphasised that temporary road closures will be enforced if the route is found to be unsafe, advising users to take alternative routes.

Madius stated that he will continue to monitor the current situation to ensure follow-up actions can be taken as quickly as possible for the safety of the public.
