KOTA KINABALU: The Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) is expected to announce the party’s candidates contesting in the by-elections for the DUN Lamaq and Kinabatangan parliamentary seats, scheduled for January 24 this year.
According to reliable sources, Warisan’s Deputy President Datuk Darrel Leiking is scheduled to officiate the candidate announcement event for both seats at the Dewan Sri Lamaq Kinabatangan on Monday at 10 AM.
The by-elections for the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat and DUN Lamag are being held following the death of the incumbent, the late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, on December 5.
Previously, Mohd Ismail Ayob, who contested as an independent candidate in the 17th State Election (PRN17) in Sabah on November 29, was announced as the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the DUN Lamaq, while Naim Kurniawan Moktar was named as the candidate for the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat.
