KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Nik Mohd Nadzri Nik Zawawi, the assemblyman (ADUN) for Liawan, has been appointed as the new Information Chief of Sabah UMNO.
This appointment is part of the party’s efforts to strengthen the reform process and improve the organizational structure in the state.
In this regard, Nik Mohd Nadzri expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the party leadership and emphasized his commitment to fulfilling this responsibility with dedication.
“I truly appreciate the trust given to me and will strive to ensure that the party’s messages and information reach the people more effectively,” he said.
He noted that this appointment is not just a responsibility but also an opportunity to bring a new face to the leadership of UMNO Sabah, while continuing to support the reform process and improve the party’s structure.
“With the support of members and the entire UMNO Sabah community, God willing, we will ensure that the party remains relevant and close to the people.”
He said that this appointment is seen as a strategic step to breathe new life into UMNO Sabah, in line with the leadership’s aspirations to invigorate the spirit of the members and strengthen the party’s relationship with the local community.
Nik Mohd Nadzri, who is also the Chief of UMNO Keningau Division, won the Liawan seat in the recent Sabah State Election (PRN) and has taken over the role of information chief from Datuk Suhaimi Nasir, the Member of Parliament for Libaran.
Previously, UMNO announced the appointment of a new Chairman of UMNO Sabah, Datuk Jafry Ariffin, the ADUN for Sukau, replacing the late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin who passed away.
Also announced was the appointment of Datuk Mohd Hasnol Ayub, a member of the UMNO Supreme Council (MKT), as the Deputy Chairman, while Samasuddin Yusop, the Chief of UMNO Kalabakan, was appointed as the Secretary.
