Sabah civil servants to receive one month’s salary, retirees RM1,000

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government has announced a special financial assistance (BKK) equivalent to one month’s salary or a minimum of RM2,000, which will be disbursed in phases, ahead of Aidilfitri and Kaamatan, to its 18,853 civil servants.

Deputy Chief Minister II Masidi Manjun, who also serves as the state finance minister, stated during the budget presentation that the BKK payments will have a financial implication of RM52.6 million.

He mentioned that the assistance payments will be implemented in February next year before Aidilfitri and in May prior to the Kaamatan celebration.

“Public servants in Sabah are the backbone of the state government’s administrative machinery… therefore, in addition to salary adjustments, the Sabah state government is also bringing good news of the BKK to state public servants,” he said during the budget presentation at the DUN session here today.

Masidi added that in addition, retired state government employees will also receive a BKK amounting to RM1,000, scheduled to be paid next year.
