Sabahans urged to continue supporting GRS for more vibrant development – Hajiji

MENUMBOK:  Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, has called on the people of Sabah to keep their trust in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to ensure the continuity of the state’s development through the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 plan.

Hajiji, who is also the Chairman of GRS, stated that a new mandate is crucial to fully realize the development plans outlined in the SMJ 2.0 direction after the successful implementation of the first phase, SMJ 1.0 (2021–2025), which has brought various benefits to the people.

“Give us a new mandate, and we will continue to enhance development under SMJ 2.0.

“The first phase has shown positive results, but there are still many development agendas that need to be pursued for the future of Sabah,” he said during a speech at an event in Menumbok on Thursday.

He also reminded the public not to easily fall for the opposition’s propaganda that tends to spread lies and accuse the GRS government of failure, while many current issues like water, electricity, and rural roads are legacies from previous administrations.

“If they say the GRS government has failed, what exactly has failed? Many of today’s problems were left by them. Even when they were ministers, they did not resolve the people’s issues,” he emphasised.

According to Hajiji, the state government under GRS has successfully attracted many investors both locally and internationally due to the investor-friendly approach implemented, thus creating more job opportunities for local residents.

The increased state revenue is also returned to the people through various forms of assistance, including cash aid of RM300 per month to 100,000 poor recipients, monthly welfare assistance to 70,000 individuals, and the SMJ Friendly Home project for low-income families and young couples.
