Dato’ Soh Poh Soon reappointed as MCCC Sabah branch’s honorary advisor

KOTA KINABALU: The 6th Council (2025–2028) of the Malaysia–China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Sabah Branch has reappointed Dato’ Soh Poh Soon as Honorary Advisor and newly appointed Chin Men Fui, former Internal Auditor cum Vice President, to the same position.

As MCCC Sabah President Datuk Dexter Lau stated, the Honorary Advisors are vital pillars of the Chamber, whose wisdom and experience enable the leadership team to strike a balance between stability and innovation.

“The Chamber’s strength comes not only from the vitality of the younger generation but also from the wisdom and dedication of our predecessors. We are deeply honoured to continue receiving the guidance and support of both advisors as we work together to elevate trade and economic cooperation between Sabah and China to new heights.”

He added that the Chamber will continue to uphold the spirit of “Business as a bridge, integrity as our foundation”, uniting members and consolidating collective strength to contribute further to Sabah’s economic growth.

To recognise their long-standing contributions to the Chamber, Deputy President Kapitan Dr Callee Tan Kai Lee personally presented the appointment letters to both advisors during a simple yet meaningful ceremony, witnessed by Vice Presidents Jacky Chin and Louis Su, along with Mae Chai, Treasurer of the Women Entrepreneurs Committee.

In her remarks, Kapitan Dr Callee Tan acknowledged the advisors’ unwavering support for the Chamber’s growth and activities, noting their significant roles in resource integration, networking, and strategic guidance.

“They are not only strong pillars of the Chamber but also role models for many council members and fellow entrepreneurs. We sincerely thank them for their continued dedication and believe that over the next three years, their experience and wisdom will further strengthen and guide the Chamber’s progress.”

She added that the new council will continue to bring together capable and visionary leaders, fostering unity and collaboration across sectors to ensure the Chamber’s sustainable growth and to strengthen the foundation for Malaysia–China trade cooperation and Sabah’s local economic prosperity.
