KOTA KINABALU: The Inanam Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) division asserts that the strength and unity of the party remain intact despite the departure of PBS Supreme Council member, Datuk William Majimbun, who has joined Parti Warisan.
In contrast, the Inanam PBS Chief, Fredolin Totin Bangon, views this move as a challenge that will inspire the division to strengthen its efforts ahead of the upcoming State Election (PRN).
“William’s departure is not a significant loss for PBS Inanam. We respect his decision, but our struggle here does not rely on individuals; it is based on the collective spirit of our members and supporters,” he said in a statement here on Wednesday.
He mentioned that the PBS Inanam division meeting held on October 21 expressed strong support for the party leadership and reinforced their commitment to ensure the victory of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in PRN17.
“The entire PBS Inanam machinery is now focused on grassroots work, strengthening ties with the people, and intensifying preparations for the upcoming PRN,” he said.
Fredolin also emphasized that PBS remains true to its original principles — advocating for stability, sincerity, and the interests of the people of Sabah, regardless of political background.
“PBS has faced various challenges since its establishment over four decades ago. What sets us apart is the loyalty of our members to the party’s struggle and principles. This is the true strength of PBS,” he remarked.
He also called on all members and supporters of PBS in Inanam to stay united and not be swayed by any attempts to weaken the party’s unity.
“This is the time for us to rise stronger, not to divide. Our focus remains — ensuring GRS’s victory and bringing stability to Sabah,” he asserted.
