KOTA KINABALU: Sabah UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) have confirmed that they will not partner with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in the upcoming state election.
As reported by Bernama, BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who also serves as the president of UMNO, stated that Sabah UMNO and BN will continue their collaboration with Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the forthcoming elections.
“We uphold the BN-PH partnership. However, Sabah BN and UMNO have made a clear decision that there will be no collaboration with GRS,” he mentioned during a press conference held here at midnight last night.
Previously, he conducted a closed-door meeting with Sabah UMNO leaders, which was also attended by Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, the chairman of Sabah UMNO and BN.
The 16th Sabah State Legislative Assembly is set to automatically dissolve on November 11 if not dissolved earlier, thus paving the way for the 17th state elections.
