Health checks and regular vaccinations for the unfortunate baby—Liew

MEROTAI: The Sabah People’s Hope Party will cover the medical costs for health checks and vaccinations for the ‘Unfortunate Baby’ who was abandoned after both parents were detained due to documentation issues.

Its president, Tan Sri Liew Yun Fah, stated that he deeply respects the country’s laws, but matters of humanitarian concern must be prioritised for a baby who does not understand anything.

He mentioned that the three-month-old baby girl requires intensive care, including health checks and regular vaccinations.

“I am willing to bear the medical costs for this unfortunate child. The baby had to be ‘separated’ after her parents were detained due to documentation problems.

“The initial intention was merely to visit and share baby necessities, but it changed slightly upon discovering that this baby may not have received the proper health care,” he said here today.

Liew noted that he has contacted a paediatric specialist clinic to seek advice regarding the necessary treatment for the baby.

“I have requested this specialist clinic to conduct a thorough health check for the baby.

“If vaccinations are needed, they must be carried out… I am ready to cover the medical expenses for this unfortunate child,” Liew explained.
