Anwar expresses optimism for collaboration among GRS, PH, and BN to confront the PRN

TAWAU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his hopeful outlook that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Pakatan Harapan (PH), and Barisan Nasional (BN) can unite to create a more extensive coalition aimed at ensuring political stability in Sabah and enhancing relations with Putrajaya.

Anwar announced that talks have commenced with Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to develop a more inclusive cooperation framework in anticipation of the state election (PRN).

“Our initiatives begin with PH Sabah, and we are actively collaborating with UMNO-BN and GRS,” Anwar stated here on Sunday.

The Prime Minister is conducting a one-day working visit to the eastern district of Sabah.

He highlighted that his meeting with Hajiji is part of ongoing efforts to enhance alignment among the three political blocs, characterizing the discussions as “positive” and “open.”

“This is the reason for my visit—to ensure that our cooperation is more extensive and inclusive,” he remarked.

In response to concerns about mixed signals regarding the alliance, Anwar clarified that while previous announcements had primarily focused on PH and BN, the current discussions now also involve GRS.

“Our main priority is to ensure political stability at both the state and national levels,” Anwar said.
