KOTA BELUD: The Sabah Tik Tokes Media Association is planning to appoint a coordinating chairperson for each of the 25 parliamentary areas in Sabah soon.
The association’s president, Abdul Aziz Haji Bilin, stated that this initiative aims to coordinate various activities, including member registration and community engagement efforts.
“We believe it is time for the Tik Tokes media association to be established throughout Sabah, especially considering the current situation regarding the spread of inaccurate or misleading information.
“Therefore, we hope that the members of this association will assist in clarifying and disseminating accurate news, particularly at the grassroots level,” he remarked.
Abdul Aziz made these comments during a speech at the Aidilfitri dinner organised by the Sabah Tik Tokes Media Association at the R @ R Open Stage near here on Friday.
The event was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education Malaysia, Datuk Mustapha Samud.
Also present were Datuk Japlin Akim, representing the Chief Minister of Sabah, and the advisor to the Sabah Tik Tokes Media Association, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
Abdul Aziz mentioned that the association aims to engage the youth as its primary demographic.
He also noted that the association plans to host a digital media seminar and a major forum to discuss and elaborate on the role of Tik Tokes media in the state.
During the event, Mustapha presented contributions to the Sabah Tik Tokes Media Association.
Additional contributions were made by the Chief Minister, represented by Japlin, as well as Salleh and Datuk Robert Tawik.
