KINA KINABALU: The chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Authority (LPPB), Datuk Masiung Banah, has directed the agency’s management to take action to resolve the National Audit Department (JANM) criticism.

Strictly, serious action should be taken immediately to improve the issue of criticism.

“I reminded LPPB executive management so that it will not be repeated and be cancerous in the administration,” he said.

Masiung was met after opening the LPPB Chinese New Year and Celebration Celebration at Hakka Hall yesterday.

Earlier last month the LPPB received an audit criticism on the management of the 2024 major activities due to the delay in the project relating to third-party cooperation.

“I urge relevant agencies, especially involving electricity and water ropes, to accelerate approval for connectivity to the completed housing project area,” he said.

Masiung also stressed the need to solve the audit criticism as well as ensuring that all housing projects were implemented on a regular basis.

The Kuamut assemblyman reminded that when he started joining the LPPB in 2000, the agency’s financial instability was relatively perturbing.

However, he made headway three years later until the LPPB obtained a static source of profit to enable LPPB residents to get an annual bonus.

Masiung has asked all LPPB officials and staff to maintain teamwork to ensure that the government’s body is in stimulating financial preference through its main activities.

Also present were Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Datuk Ridhwan Riger Linus; LPPB General Manager Datuk Rosemary Ahping; and LPPB deputy chairman Datuk Jamaliah Antalip.

More than 300 LPPB residents also attended the event.
