KOTA KINABALU: Sabah UMNO Chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin visited the flood-affected areas in Kinabatangan, located on the eastern coast of Sabah, to see for himself the flood situation there.
Bung, who is the Member of Parliament for Kinabatangan, toured several locations and villages, including Pangkalan, Kampung Muhibbah, Mengaris, and Sukau.
During his visit, he also distributed assistance to flood victims as a gesture of empathy for their hardships.
“I hope all flood victims can remain patient and resilient in facing this challenge,” he said in a statement here today.
Bung urged all parties to collaborate in ensuring the safety and welfare of the affected individuals.
“I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all agencies involved in assisting the flood victims.
“The government and relevant agencies will continue to provide necessary support to ensure the well-being of the people is upheld,” he added.
Earlier, Bung visited the Kinabatangan District Disaster Operations Control Centre (PKOB) to gather the latest information regarding the flood situation in the area.
