KOTA KINABALU: Former Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Yahya Hussin, has urged certain parties to cease all accusations and slander directed at the future Yang Di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman.
He emphasised that Musa is the most qualified and suitable candidate to be appointed as the new Yang Di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah after the current officeholder, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Juhar Mahiruddin, completes his term on December 31, 2024.
According to him, Musa’s appointment as the 11th Yang Di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah should not be a contentious issue, as it is in accordance with the State Constitution.
He highlighted that Musa, as a former Chief Minister of Sabah, possesses extensive experience and has made significant contributions to the state, particularly in the areas of economy, infrastructure development, social welfare, and politics.
“In light of the unfounded slander and accusations being perpetuated by certain parties against Musa, the leadership of the nation and the state, I urge them to immediately halt these actions.
“Spreading falsehoods and inciting the public to harbor animosity towards the leadership of the nation and state, as well as involving His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, is utterly inappropriate,” he said in a statement.
He has previously served as Deputy Chief Minister and a full minister under Musa’s administration.
Sultan Ibrahim has graciously presented the Letter of Appointment as the 11th Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah to Musa, along with the prestigious Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara award at the National Palace on December 17.
