KOTA KINABALU: The Madani Federal Government has successfully implemented numerous positive initiatives related to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), which had not been undertaken by any prior government.
PKR Vice President Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said that the Madani administration, led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is not acting out of obligation or pressure, but rather out of a commitment to recognising the special status of Sabah and Sarawak within the Malaysian federation.
“We must fulfill this promise as envisioned and pledged by our founders. That is our conviction, and we have made substantial progress,” he remarked.
Nik Nazmi, who is also the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, made these comments during a dinner event for the Malaysia Madani State Leadership Council (MPN) of Keadilan Sabah here last night.
He noted that the Madani government has prioritised the eradication of poverty, which will particularly benefit the states of Sabah and Kelantan.
According to Nik Nazmi, PKR Sabah is currently focusing on two main issues, with the first being the political stability of the state.
In this regard, he emphasized that the party is responsible for ensuring that stability is maintained in Sabah.
He added that the national party also aims to prioritise efforts to strengthen preparations for the upcoming state elections in Sabah next year.
